Convicted sexual offender rearrested by Edmonton police

A recently released violent sexual offender has been rearrested by Edmonton police.
On Thursday, police say 37-year-old Alexandre Passechnikov allegedly assaulted a woman who went into the rooming house where Passechnikov was residing.
Police were reportedly monitoring Passechnikov, and shortly after the alleged incident, he was arrested and charged with assault, choking, forcible confinement as well as three breaches of his peace bond.

Previously, Edmonton police issued a warning to the public about Passechnikov’s release from prison, which indicated he was living in Edmonton.
