Edmonton woman killed after pickup truck allegedly ran stop sign in Parkland County

By News Staff

Police say a 58-year-old woman was killed in a collision west of Edmonton Sunday evening.

Parkland RCMP say the two-vehicle crash happened at Highway 627 and Range Road 12 around 5:15 p.m.

Police say a pickup truck allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign when crossing the highway. Police believe that pickup then struck the passenger side of a second pickup truck driving westbound.

“The 58-year-old female passenger of the first truck was transported to hospital via STARS, where she succumbed to her injuries,” RCMP said in a statement.

“Her 60-year-old husband, and the 39-year-old male driver of the second vehicle both sustained lesser injuries as well.”

All people involved were from Edmonton.

The collision is under investigation.
