Alberta identifies 732 new COVID-19 cases, positivity rate of 7.4%

CALGARY — Alberta identified 732 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday.
The new cases numbers coming after more than 10,000 tests were completed, giving the province a positivity rate of 7.4 per cent over the last day.
Currently, there are 16,577 active cases in Alberta, a significant decrease of 1,098 cases from Thursday.

Hospitalizations also trended downwards, with 638 people in hospital, a 27 person decrease from the day prior.
ICU admissions held steady at 177.
Two additional deaths were confirmed on Friday.
On the vaccine front, 77,043 doses were administered over the last day, pushing Alberta over 2.4 million doses administered to date.
Fourty-six per cent of all Albertans have now received at least one dose.
