OTTAWA — Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-François Blanchet has some harsh words for Democrats, and wonders why Joe Biden hasn’t won the election yet.
Blanchet said Wednesday it’s beyond him why voters still haven’t given up on Donald Trump.
“Why do the American people still support so strongly that man is a question that he does not have to ask himself. He is faring pretty well. The Democrats, the media institutions should ask themselves this troubling question,” Blanchet said.
He suggests the Democrats have a lot of hard work to do if their presidential candidate can’t beat Trump.
“A man who openly lies avoids paying his taxes, carries and shares prejudice against so many people, why do the American people still support so strongly that man?”
We feel good about where we are. We believe we are on track to win this election.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was more diplomatic in his assessment of the U.S. presidential election.
“Everyone knows there is an electoral process underway in the United States. We are of course following carefully and will continue to as the days unfold,” Trudeau said.

Backlash against Trump followed after his false election-victory claim
The fate of the United States presidency is hanging in the balance, with Trump and Biden battling for three familiar battleground states — Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania — that could prove crucial in determining who wins the White House.
Meanwhile, Trump’s campaign manager, Bill Stepien, said the Republican representative to “immediately” request a recount in the battleground state of Wisconsin, where the race remains close.

In Wisconsin, if a race is within one percentage point, the trailing candidate can force a recount.
“The president is well within the threshold to request a recount and we will immediately do so,” Stepien said in a statement.
