Cougar sightings prompt warnings for Banff

BANFF (660 NEWS) – A number of cougar sightings in Banff National Park have prompted a safety warning from Parks Canada.

The warning was issued on Sunday after many sightings around the Town of Banff.

As of Monday morning, no closures have been announced as a result of the cougar warnings.

Parks Canada said that any residents or visitors to the area should take precautions including travelling in groups, alerting wildlife to your presence and keeping bear spray in case of an encounter.
