3 charged in thefts of credit cards from gym locker rooms in Edmonton, other provinces

Edmonton police say three people have been charged in connection with a series of credit card thefts from fitness facility locker rooms in the city and elsewhere in Canada.
The Edmonton Police Service says the two men and one woman were arrested in Winnipeg in April.
The charges against them – multiple counts of theft of credit card, fraud under $5,000 and theft under $5,000 – are linked to 18 thefts at gyms in Edmonton, Manitoba and Ontario.
Investigators allege two of the suspects carried out the locker break-ins, then handed off the stolen credit cards to a third person to make the fraudulent purchases.
Police say the total value of the purchases in Edmonton alone is more than $25,000.
Edmonton police began investigating in March after a report of theft from a facility in the city’s northeast.
Livia Cozma, 41, Orlando-Constantin Vaduva, 52, and Bogdan Todica, 40, are facing a combined total of 59 charges. The allegations against them have not been tested in court.
