Pedestrian in critical condition after hit-and-run

A man in his 50s was hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle Friday.

Edmonton police (EPS) received a 911 call reporting an injured male in the area of 42 Avenue and Calgary Trail South.

Police believe the man was struck between 10:30 and 10:45 a.m. and sustained life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital by EMS.

“The driver involved in the collision left the scene and investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who was travelling in the area at the time and may have dashcam footage to contact police,” EPS said in a press release.
