Edmonton police charge daycare worker in sexual assault case

Edmonton police (EPS) have charged a 21-year-old daycare employee in connection with a sexual assault case.

EPS said they received a 911 call from a parent reporting an incident involving their child at a west Edmonton daycare.

“Through investigative measures, officers identified a teaching assistant as the suspect, who was then suspended by his employer. His childcare certification has also been suspended,” EPS said in a press release.

Kulraj Singh was arrested and charged with sexual assault and sexual interference. He was released on bail with conditions.

According to EPS, Singh also worked at a second daycare in central Edmonton and they believe there may be other victims.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Anonymous information may also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online.
