1 injured, 2 arrested in shooting outside restaurant near West Edmonton Mall

One person was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries and two suspects were taken into custody after a shooting outside a restaurant next to the West Edmonton Mall on Tuesday night.

The Edmonton Police Service tells CityNews officers were called to 90 Avenue and 170 Street around 9:17 p.m. where they found a man who had been shot.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries, they say.

Authorities say two suspects, a man and female youth, were found “a short distance away” and arrested. A loaded firearm was allegedly found after officers searched the man.

Police are continuing to investigate, and charges are pending.

CityNews was at the scene Tuesday night and observed officers walking around and going inside the Jollibee restaurant on 90 Avenue.
