Alberta RCMP are looking for a man believed to be connected to the grandparent scam.
Mounties in Parkland say they are investigating an alleged fraud incident that took place on Jan. 27, when a man got a phone call from a man claiming his grandson had been arrested and required bail money.
“A short time later, a male suspect attended the victim’s home and obtained $8,500 in cash from the victim,” said RCMP in a statement. “The victim was able to provide doorbell camera footage of the suspect to police.”
With the help of the video footage, police say the man is around 30-years-old, around 5’10”, he has some facial hair, and at the time he was wearing a dark coat.
