Strathcona crews battle blaze in southeast Edmonton

Fire crews are working to extinguish a blaze that ignited Saturday morning in southeast Edmonton’s industrial area.

Edmonton Police is helping Strathcona County fire crews with traffic control in the area, according to officials.

34 Street is closed between Sherwood Park Freeway and Baseline Road.

Due to the ongoing fire, motorists are asked to avoid the area and seek other routes. 

Strathcona County mayor Rod Frank reassured the public on Facebook that the fire is under control.
