‘Reckless disregard for the safety of residents:’ Edmonton police seek Prince Charles shooting suspects

Edmonton police are looking to identify at least four suspects in a shooting in the Prince Charles neighbourhood dating back to the winter.

The Edmonton Police Service says the suspects fired multiple times both inside and outside a home on March 13 around 3:22 a.m.

Police released surveillance video Tuesday from what appears to be a nearby driveway.

A sedan can be seen backing into the driveway, at which point four suspects – wearing dark clothes and hats – exit the vehicle. It appears a fifth person remains in the back seat.

The video jumps ahead a minute later – according to the timestamp – with the suspects running back to the vehicle, slipping in the process, and firing their weapons into the air. Six shots are fired – from three different suspects – during the short video.

They all enter the car before driving off.

“These suspects demonstrated a reckless disregard for the safety of residents in this community, discharging firearms in a residential area at night,” said Const. Marc-André Gagnon of the EPS firearms investigation unit.

“It’s a miracle no innocent people were struck by this dangerous gunfire.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
