RCMP identify victims of Lloydminster triple murder

By Lauryn Heintz

Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has identified the three men killed in what police called a “targeted attack” near the Alberta/Saskatchewan border last week.

Emergency crews were called to a home on the Saskatchewan side of the border city of Lloydminster just before 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11 for a wellness check.

When officers entered the house, they found three people dead.

They have now been identified as 66-year-old Brent Peters, 32-year-old Matthew Peters, and 34-year-old Brennan Peters by RCMP.

A GoFundMe created to support the family of those lost describes the three as father and sons.

“They were cruelly taken from this world and did not deserve such a heinous act,” the organizer wrote. “They loved those close to them with everything they had.”

The investigation into the three deaths is ongoing, police say, emphasizing there is no risk to the public as the incident was targeted. Information about cause of death has not been provided.

Officers are fully committed to solving the case and bringing those responsible to justice, the RCMP adds.

Anyone with information about the deaths of Brent, Matthew, and Brennan is asked to contact Lloydminster RCMP at 780-808-8400 or tip anonymously through CrimeStoppers.
