The Edmonton Oilers fan parks have reached capacity, Edmonton police and the City of Edmonton say.
The fan parks were deemed full roughly 40 minutes before puck drop in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup final between the Oilers and Florida Panthers.
The game is being played in Sunrise, Fla., but Oilers fans have gathered at watch parties downtown since the start of the playoffs.
Security at the Moss Pit told CityNews capacity at that watch party was set at 5,000 people.
Around 5:10 p.m., the Moss Pit announcer ordered fans to clear one of the entrances so medical crews can tend to individuals with injuries. No additional information was provided.
EPS is asking members of the public to avoid Rogers Place unless they are attending the watch party inside the building.
They are also sending a reminder to “be respectful of the space and each other.”
