Some optimism for the delayed Valley Line SE LRT

By CityNews Staff

While no official date has been set for passengers on the Valley Line LRT, the City says Edmontonians can expect news soon on an opening date later this fall.

Final testing on the line that will connect Mill Woods to Downtown is now complete, and the results are hands of independent certifiers.

The $1.8 billion project was supposed to be completed in 2020, but construction delays, cracked piers, and cable lines needing to be replaced set it back.

The city says TransEd is in the process of the final alignment of the tracks and training crews that would run the trains. Noting the final date will be set once certification is complete.
