Police seek suspect after arsons cause ‘extensive damages’ in Delwood

By News Staff

Edmonton police are turning to the public for help in identifying a suspect in connection with several arsons in the neighbourhood of Delwood in last month.

The Edmonton Police Service says fires were lit on June 5 and June 10, causing “extensive damages.”

Police say they responded to “multiple arson incidents” around 137 Avenue and 132 Avenue near 66 Street on June 5 between 2 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. EPS says six detached garages were damaged.

Five days later, police say a fire was started behind a residential garage near 128 Avenue and 72 Street.

“EPS investigators believe the same suspect is likely responsible for all of the fires,” police said in a news release.

The suspect is described as a tall, thin man. He was wearing a pair of shoes with reflective stripes on the back during the alleged June 5 arson.
