North Edmonton suspicious deaths confirmed as homicides

Autopsies into the deaths of a man and a woman who died Tuesday afternoon in north Edmonton, have confirmed they are homicides, according to Edmonton Police Service (EPS).

The Edmonton Medical Examiner concluded autopsies on Mohamed Lamin Fofanah, 20, and Mya Abialmounda, 21, and determined both died from gunshot wounds.

EPS found the pair after responding to a weapons complaint near 132A  Avenue and 66 Street.



When they arrived, officers found a man and a woman in a vehicle, seriously injured. EMS was called, however, both victims died from their injuries at the scene.
