Alberta university athletes honoured by Governor General

OTTAWA (660 NEWS) – Two outstanding Albertans are being recognized by the Governor General on Tuesday.
Kate Pexman, from Calgary, plays volleyball for the University of Calgary and studies geomatics engineering and Edward Illnicki, from Spruce Grove, played football for the University of Alberta and studied commerce.
The Governor General’s Academic All-Canadian Commendation recognizes student-athletes who have maintained an average of 80 per cent, or higher while playing on a university varsity team.
A total of eight student-athletes will be honoured during a ceremony at Rideau Hall in Ottawa.
