Construction begins on shared Public, Catholic Francophone school in Edmonton

Construction on a new shared Francophone school in Edmonton officially began on Monday.
The Government of Alberta says the facility will house two distinct high schools: one public and one Catholic.
Around $91 million was invested to create modern, high-quality learning spaces for 1,260 students, while also allowing both schools to have their own distinct space and identity.
The public school will be named École l’Odyssée, while the Catholic school will be named École l’Envolée.
“Alberta is growing, and we are building the school infrastructure communities need. This investment will deliver modern, high-quality spaces and lasting value for Edmonton families while supporting jobs and fostering economic growth,” said Martin Long, Minister of Infrastructure.
Both schools will house Grades 7 through 12, and while operating independently, both schools will have shared amenities, including a library, gymnasium, and career and technology studies classrooms.
