Demolition underway at the Edmonton Spectrum

The demolition of the former Northlands Spectrum is underway. As Hiba Kamal-Choufi reports, it’s part of the redevelopment the Edmonton Exhibition Lands.

Demolition is underway at the former Northlands Park Racetrack & Casino property, known as the Edmonton Spectrum.

The demolition is part of phased work through the Edmonton Exhibition Lands development.

Once cleared, the space is expected to accommodate roughly 160 new housing units.

“We’re really excited for this significant milestone in the Exhibition Lands development,” said Janice Lee, Project Lead, Edmonton Exhibition Lands, Real Estate and Land Development.

“Our partners are doing a great job on the demolition project, and once it’s complete, it will open the door for our team to prepare the site for eventual residential development. This site will complement our current work in the southwest of the Exhibition Lands area, and we look forward to the first residential units coming onto the market in the next few years.”
