Police are turning to the public for help gathering information about the fire that destroyed the Wetaskiwin Memorial Arts Centre earlier this month.
Wetaskiwin RCMP are asking anyone with footage of 50 Street – between 51 and 52 avenues – on June 6 between 6:30-6:45 p.m. to come forward.
Fifteen fire crews and firefighters from the nearby Millet Fire Department were called to battle the blaze at the historic landmark that evening. They worked through the night, and the fire was contained late the following morning.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, with authorities hoping dashcam footage can help with the probe.
Anyone with video or information about the incident is asked to call the Wetaskiwin RCMP at 780-312-7200.
