2 dead, 2 injured in collision in Leduc

RCMP is investigating a fatal collision that claimed the lives of a 55-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman Sunday evening in Leduc.

Police said the collision occurred at the intersection of Highway 2A and 50 Street. When officers arrived, they found a Ford Fusion and a Ford Edge involved in the crash.

The man and woman were pronounced dead at the scene, according to RCMP.

A rear-seat passenger was taken to hospital with injuries that have not yet been disclosed. The driver of the Ford Fusion was also transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene, and the investigation remains ongoing.
