A 31-year-old Sherwood Park man has been charged with second-degree murder following a fatal stabbing at an apartment complex early Friday morning.
RCMP were called to a building near Fir Street shortly after 5:30 a.m., where officers found a man suffering from serious injuries. Despite life-saving efforts by EMS crews, the victim died at the scene.
Police later identified the victim as 36-year-old Darren James Currat.

Investigators say Christopher Boyd O’Chiese was arrested about five hours after the incident. According to Strathcona County RCMP, O’Chiese and Currat lived in the same apartment complex.
O’Chiese has been charged with second-degree murder and remains in custody. He is scheduled to appear in St. Albert court on Monday.
