5 suspected drug overdoses in Lloydminster

By The Canadian Press and CityNews

RCMP in Alberta say officers responded to five suspected overdoses in a span of seven hours on Monday.

Mounties say at least four doses of Narcan were administered in Lloydminster and, in one instance, officers had to rush someone to hospital because of a delay with ground ambulance services.

RCMP say the overdoses were not connected in any way and no one died.

They say investigators are still determining where the drugs were purchased.

“Though drug analysis still needs to be completed, it is suspected that these drugs may have been laced or have higher levels of opioids than expected,” police said in a news release.
