Edmonton police seize drugs, illegal cigarettes from Evansdale home

Edmonton police say they arrested a 50-year-old man in connection with the seizure of illegal drugs and contraband cigarettes last month.

The Edmonton Police Service says the search of a home in the Evansdale neighbourhood on Jan. 25 following a drug trafficking investigation led to officers seizing:

2.2 kg of cocaine
13 kg of phenacetin (buffing agent)
4,200 cartons of contraband cigarettes
More than $126,000 in cash

Yurk Kee Wong was arrested and is facing eight charges, including four drug trafficking-related charges. The allegations have not been tested in court.
