Northwest Edmonton homicide case closed as suspect dies

Edmonton police on Wednesday said they are not laying charges in a homicide that occurred in the Oxford neighbourhood as their sole suspect has died.
On Nov. 23, around 4.45 p.m. police were doing a welfare check in the area of 157 Avenue and 130A Street when they found a man who had died in what they said was suspicious circumstances.
On Nov. 27, an autopsy revealed that 28-year-old Ermiya Zerzghi died of blunt head and neck trauma and the manner of death was homicide.
EPS homicide investigators said that no charges are being laid in relation to the homicide, as the suspect has since died and they are not seeking any additional suspects.
