Cyclist, 65, killed after being hit by SUV in southeast Edmonton

Police say a 65-year-old cyclist has died after he was struck by an SUV on Sunday afternoon – the latest traffic fatality in Edmonton.
The Edmonton Police Service says it happened around 2 p.m. on Sunday. They say the cyclist was crossing 34 Street at 28A Avenue in the southeast when he was struck by a Hyundai Tucson, driven by a 41-year-old man.
EMS treated and transported the cyclist to hospital with serious injuries, where he died of his injuries later that day.
The EPS Major Collision Investigations Section (MCIS) is investigating.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage of it to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
