Edmonton police say a 56-year-old man has been charged with allegedly sexually assaulting four women whom he met through dating apps.
EPS says in April 2025, they received a report from a woman who alleged that she was sexually assaulted by a man whom she met through a dating app. Over the course of their investigation, three other women came forward alleging similar experiences.
It is believed that the women met the man through Facebook Dating, Bumble, or Tinder, and were invited to the man’s house when it is believed that they were drugged and sexually assaulted.
“These types of assaults are deeply troubling because they involve a calculated breach of trust,” says Staff Sergeant Christa Laforce of the EPS Sexual Assault Section. “Based on the investigation, we believe there may be additional complainants. If you have been affected, you are not alone, and we encourage you to come forward. Police can help connect individuals with supports and resources.”
EPS says on Mar. 17, 56-year-old William McMullin was taken into custody and charged with sexual assault, administering a stupefying substance, assault with a weapon, voyeurism, assault, mischief under $5,000, intimidation, unlawful confinement, and criminal harassment.
Anyone who believes they may have been victimized by McMullin is asked to contact the Edmonton Police Service at 780-423-4567
