Mounties in Alberta are searching for a 48-year-old man from Devon charged with sexual offences against a minor.
Devon RCMP say they first received a report into the man on Oct. 10.
Following an investigation, Darryl Labrecque was charged with sexual interference with a person under the age of 16; invitation to sexual touching under the age of 16; and breach of release conditions.
Labrecque is described as five-foot-six, weighing 123 lbs., with brown hair and hazel eyes. Authorities believe the accused is “actively avoiding apprehension.”
Anyone with information is asked to call 780-987-3414 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
Labrecque has a lengthy criminal record.
Most recently he was charged with sexual assault, sexual contact with a child, sexual counselling of a child, trafficking of a minor, and impersonating a police officer for alleged offences involving a six-year-old boy said to have occurred in the summer of 2024. He is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 14 for an arraignment.
None of the allegations have been tested in court.
