North Edmonton polling station closed due to power outage

Voting was stopped at a north Edmonton polling station because of a power outage, with voters asked to move to a nearby location.

Edmonton Elections says voters assigned to St. Timothy Catholic Elementary School, in Ward Anirniq, should instead cast their ballots at Caernarvon School, just a couple of blocks away.

The elections authority adds EPCOR was assessing the situation.

Workers stopped processing votes once the power went out at St. Timothy.

Much earlier on Monday, shortly after polls opened, there were technical issues at the Parkland Immanuel Christian School polling station in Ward sipiwiyiniwak. Edmonton Elections asked voters to “please be patient” with election workers.
