Edmonton Police (EPS) have arrested a man who was allegedly involved in a sexual assault that took place in July.
EPS arrested Ferhat Ozdemircan, 30 and charged him with sexual assault, kidnapping and intimidation.
Police say the alleged incident happened on July 2 around 1:30 a.m. after the suspect offered to drive home a woman who was attempting to book an Uber around 113 Street and Jasper Avenue.
After the woman got into the car, police allege the suspect drove her to a residential construction site in the Blatchford neighbourhood and sexually assaulted her before leaving her there.
Edmonton police say the suspect was not an Uber driver and did not identify himself as such.
He was released on bail with conditions that include weapons and firearms prohibitions, a 24-hour curfew to remain in his residence, with some exceptions, and the surrender of his passport.
Investigators believe there may be additional complainants and are asking anyone who may have experienced something similar to come forward.
Anyone who believes they may have been victimized by the suspect, is asked to contact police.
