June was another busy month for shootings across the city.
The Edmonton Police Service says it responded to 15 shootings, nearly double the number of shootings in May (eight).
Of those, police say 14 were targeted, and 10 resulted in injueies.
It’s a jump year-over-year, as there were 11 shootings in June 2024.

Edmonton police say there were 71 shootings in the first six months of this year, a slight increase over the 68 reported shootings during the first half of 2024.
“This month is showing an increase in shootings over both the previous month and the monthly total from last year. We will continue to address gun violence in our city through our Guns and Gangs Strategy, which focuses on deterrence, investigative excellence and youth intervention” said Staff Sgt. David Graham of the EPS firearms investigation section.
Police seized 68 firearms in June and 380 in 2025 so far, compared to 419 at this time last year.
