Man dead after being found unconscious in northeast Edmonton: EPS

Edmonton police say a 30-year-old man is dead after he was found unconscious in northeast Edmonton on May 16.

The man, identified as Evander Saddleback, was found unconscious in the area of 118 Avenue and 87 Street. EMS treated and transported the man to the hospital, but he died there on May 20.

An autopsy performed on May 22 confirmed that Saddleback died of a blunt head injury, and the manner of death was confirmed to be a homicide.

EPS’s homicide section has taken over the investigation. Police are asking anyone with camera footage around the area, between 9 p.m. on May 15 and 1 a.m. on May 16, or anyone with information regarding this assault to contact the police.
