The City of Edmonton has cancelled its long-running ‘Front Yards in Bloom’ program, which celebrated the creativity of local gardeners after 25 years.
As per their website, both the Front Yards in Bloom program and the Edmonton In Bloom Awards have been discontinued in 2025 as part of the 2024 fall supplemental Operating Budget adjustment and following budget decisions.
“The Front Yards in Bloom program was a success due to the dedication and support from its volunteers over the years, as well as dedicated gardeners throughout the city. We thank you all for strengthening Edmonton’s community spirit and beautifying our neighbourhoods,” the city’s website says.
The program began in 1999 as a partnership between the Edmonton Horticultural Society, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers, and the City.
