The northern Alberta community of John D’Or Prairie is reporting a measles outbreak.
The Little Red River Cree Nation says it is investigating the cases, which are “not of great concern at this time.”
The outbreak was declared Sunday.
“Members are asked to immunize and remain vigilant, as well as seek medical attention if any symptoms occur,” a letter to the community reads.
A Health Canada memo says the source of the outbreak is unknown, and that cases have not spread beyond “the impacted household.”
Anyone who is sick is asked to stay home from work, school or community events.
John D’Or Prairie is about 750 kilometres north of Edmonton.
