Edmonton, CUPE Local 30 reach tentative agreement

By CityNews Staff

The City of Edmonton and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 30 — the union representing municipal workers in Edmonton — have reportedly reached a tentative agreement.

The announcement of the tentative deal came Friday afternoon, following months of negotiations.

The City says the next step in the process is for the union to hold a ratification vote with members, noting that until that time, the details of the agreement won’t be made public.

“Both parties are pleased to have reached a tentative agreement that provides fair and equitable compensation for CUPE Local 30 members while considering the sustainability of City finances,” said the City in a statement.
