Man accused of damaging Edmonton downtown gay bar turns himself in to police

Police say a suspect accused of defacing the outside window of Edmonton’s Evolution Wonderlounge – a popular 2SLGBTQ+ nightclub downtown – during the Christmas holidays has turned himself in to police.

The Edmonton Police Service says the man was caught on surveillance camera defacing the window on Dec. 22, 2024, around 5:10 a.m.

Authorities say the damage to the window was directly over a “Protect Trans Kids” poster that was inside the bar. The suspect also allegedly carved what police say appears to be a cross into the window glass.
