Edmonton police are looking to identify two people suspected of a theft at a jewelry store earlier this month.
EPS says that around 6 p.m. on Oct. 10, a man and a woman entered a jewelry store in West Edmonton Mall, and it is believed that the woman distracted a store employee so the man could go behind the counter and steal some merchandise.
Police believe roughly $115,000 worth of merchandise was taken at the time.
The man has been described as roughly 5’8” with short dark hair and brown eyes. At the time, he was wearing a black sweater, grey pants, and white shoes with black soles.
The woman has been described as 5’4” with dark long straight hair and brown eyes. At the time, she was wearing a black long-sleeve shirt with a black vest overtop, a black skirt, and black boots. She was carrying what appeared to be a Burberry purse.
It was also noted that both seemed to have Eastern European accents.
“This was a very brazen theft where the two suspects acted together,” said Const. Alex Sutton of the EPS West Branch. “We are hopeful that someone recognizes them and comes forward to police.”
