Two charged after illicit drugs, weapons found in car: RCMP

Alberta RCMP has charged two people after illicit drugs and imitation firearms were found in a vehicle during a traffic stop.
Mounties say around 12:47 a.m. on Oct. 5, patrol officers from Strathcona County conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle near Pembina Road.
During the stop, officers noticed the occupants trying to hide a small bag. This led to both being taken into custody.
While in custody, police searched the vehicle, where they found and seized several imitation firearms, prohibited weapons and a small quantity of illicit drugs
As a result, 48-year-old Leigh-Anne Grace McKay of Edmonton and 61-year-old Dean Kelly Tracey of Tofield, Alta. were charged with 11 combined charges including possession of methamphetamine, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Both are expected to appear in court on Oct. 23 in Sherwood Park.
