Cougar spotted in Lloydminster

Police are warning the residents of Lloydminster that a cougar was spotted in the town on the Alberta-Saskatchewan border.

Alberta RCMP say the cougar was last seen near 33 Street and 45 Avenue on Wednesday.

Lloydminster RCMP and the Saskatchewan Conservation Officers have advised residents to not approach or feed the cougar. They also recommend residents to supervise pets when outdoors; keep food and garbage inside or put away as best as possible; and keep fences and doors closed and locked.

Anyone who sees the cougar near a home is asked to call the Lloydminster RCMP at 780-808-8400.

Lloydminster is about 250 kilometers east of Edmonton.
