By News Staff

Edmonton police says part of eastbound Whitemud Drive has been reduced to one lane of traffic near 111 Street due to a two-vehicle collision.

EPS says they responded to reports of a collision around 8:56 a.m. Monday.

Reports indicated that two vehicles had collided, causing one to flip and block multiple lanes of traffic.

Paramedics also responded to the scene, and treated two women — the drivers of both vehicles — before they were both taken to hospital for precautionary reasons.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible while police conduct their investigation.
