4 charged in connection to abduction in Fort Saskatchewan

Alberta RCMP says four people have been charged in connection to a kidnapping last week.

Mounties say just after 1 p.m. on Sept. 5, they received a report that a woman had been taken against her will and was placed in a vehicle with unknown people.

The RCMP says the woman was able to discreetly send a text to someone, informing them of the situation, and that person contacted police.

Fort Saskatchewan RCMP was able to track the vehicle to a home in Vermilion, and with help from other police resources, were able to take four people into custody. It was noted that a machete was found inside the vehicle after everyone was placed in custody.

The woman was also found uninjured.

Since, the RCMP has charged 39-year-old Wyatt Darryl Fiddler, 34-year-old Guy Edward Delorme, 24-year-old Kaylee Sunshine, and 21-year-old Cameron Gia Lawrence with kidnapping with a firearm, forcible confinement, and administering a noxious substance.

Fiddler, Delorme, and Lawrence were also charged with failing to comply with a release order. The three of them were also remanded into custody and will appear in court on Sept. 12.

Sunshine has been released and is expected to appear in court on Sept. 12.
