St. Albert hit and run leaves victim’s vehicle in flames: RCMP

Police in St. Albert are looking for the driver of a vehicle who allegedly rammed into another vehicle from behind, driving them off the road, before fleeing on Thursday.

St. Albert RCMP says an “aggressive” vehicle, a 2015-2020 GMC Sierra quad cab pickup, hit a vehicle around 4:30 p.m. at the traffic circle on Villeneuve Road near St. Albert Trail.

“The victim’s vehicle then started on fire, resulting in the total loss of the vehicle. The victim was not injured,” St. Albert RCMP said in a news release.

Police say the suspect vehicle was last seen heading west on Villeneuve. Police describe the vehicle as having red or pink rims; a black headache rack; metal push bar/ bumper on front; and damage to the passenger side.

RCMP are asking residents to check their home and dash cameras for footage of the vehicle.
