10-year-old in hospital after being hit crossing Edmonton road

Edmonton police say a 10-year-old is in hospital after being hit while crossing a road Friday afternoon.
Around 3 p.m., officers responded to 34 Avenue and 106 Street after it was reported a Ford Escape hit a child.
Reports indicate the child was crossing in a marked crosswalk at the time.
They were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say charges of failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk are pending against the woman driving the Escape.
