Edmonton police looking for man linked to Ford truck thefts

Edmonton police are looking for a man believed to be linked to multiple truck thefts in mid-March.
EPS says around 6:30 a.m., on March 17, an unidentified man was seen driving a stolen 2003 Ford F-350 near 91 Street and 71 Avenue.
Around that time, the man reportedly got out of the vehicle and stole a second vehicle, a 2003 Ford F-350.
Police say for the next several hours, the man drove through south Edmonton, Beaver County, and Strathcona County, where four other Ford trucks were reported stolen.
“The suspect would arrive in a stolen Ford and would then steal another unoccupied Ford truck on scene. During one of the thefts, the unknown suspect confronted a citizen with a knife, though thankfully no injuries were reported,” said Edmonton police in a statement.
Around 6:54 a.m., on March 18, police received another report of a stolen 2001 Ford F-350 near 90 Avenue and 46 Street.
Police learned that the truck theft was similar to the day before, with a man arriving in a 2000 Ford F-250 he had stolen the day before and left it on scene to steal a 2001 Ford F-350.
EPS were able to recover one of the stolen 2001 Ford F-350’s near 85 Street and 80 Avenue.
It is also believed that that truck was left there between Mar. 18 and 19.
“The motivation behind these Ford truck thefts is unknown,” says EPS Const. Whitney Stevens of Southeast Branch. “We are hopeful that someone out there recognizes the suspect in our composite sketch.”
