2 Edmonton homicide suspects among Canada’s most wanted

Two Edmonton homicide suspects are among Canada’s most wanted, with thousands of dollars in rewards being offered to track them down.

Joseph Chlala and Saed Osman were included on the national Bolo Program’s list of top 25 fugitives. Both are described as potentially armed and dangerous.

Bolo is offering rewards of $50,000 each for information that leads to their arrest. The rewards are available until Dec. 3.

Chlala (no. 7 on the list) was out on bail awaiting sentencing for a Calgary homicide, to which he pled guilty to manslaughter, when police allege he removed his ankle monitoring bracelet.

He is now the prime suspect in the June 2023 fatal shooting of 21-year-old Osama Ali in an alley in Edmonton’s south end.

The 23-year-old Chlala is described as five-foot-five, weighing 240 lbs., with green eyes and brown hair. Police say he has connections to Edmonton, Calgary and Ottawa.

Osman (no. 8 on the list), who has made several appearances on Bolo’s previous lists, is wanted on charges including first-degree-murder in connection to the March 2022 mass shooting outside Edmonton’s Ertale Lounge.

Osman is described as six feet tall weighing 180 lbs., with brown eyes, black hair (possibly braided) and a scar on his right wrist.

Police believe Osman, who is from Ontario, may still be living in Edmonton as he has “strong ties” to the city. The 29-year-old is also known as Guled Osman or by the nickname “Styles,” according to police.

Top fugitive in Canada

Michael Bebee was named Canada’s most wanted fugitive on Tuesday for his alleged role in the murder of Toronto man Shamar Powell-Flowers nine months ago.

In November 2023, police announced that Bebee was wanted Canada-wide for second-degree murder. Powell-Flowers was found at the scene with gunshot wounds and was rushed to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Bolo Program is an initiative leveraging social media, technology and engagement to encourage citizens to be on the lookout for Canada’s most wanted.

Since 2018, the non-profit Bolo Program has built its most wanted list from the voluntarily submitted lists of police departments across Canada. It employs a six-police investigator committee to determine suspect rankings and uses social media to help spread the word about wanted individuals.
