Parkland RCMP say a 19-year-old woman who was a passenger in a collision on March 23 has died from her injuries.
Mounties say around 2:46 p.m., officers received a report of a major collision on Highway 16A, at the intersection of Nelson Drive, in Spruce Grove.

Through the initial stages of the investigation, it is believed a Stony Plain Community Peace Officer attempted a traffic stop of a red sedan that was driving at a high rate of speed.
Reports indicate that the sedan failed to stop at a red light where it collided with a minivan.

At the time, a man and a woman within the minivan were taken to a hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries. RCMP have confirmed that the woman has since died.
The driver and a passenger of the sedan were also taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation is ongoing, and charges are pending against the driver of the sedan.
