Youth worker charged with child sexual exploitation

The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) has charged a 28-year-old youth worker with child sexual exploitation.

ALERT says with help from the Edmonton Police Service, Abraham Woo was taken into custody on Feb. 2, in connection to a child sexual exploitation investigation.

Woo, who also goes by Abraham Calling Bear Woo, Abraham Collingwood, and WolfBoy22 on Snapchat, was allegedly involved in luring a child who he had previously worked with at Pasqua First Nations in southern Saskatchewan, over Snapchat and Facebook.

ALERT says they were first notified of the alleged incident in January by RCMP in Fort Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan.

Through their investigation, ALERT was able to seize computers and other electronic devices from Woo’s home, where they found child sexual abuse materials, and investigators also found photos that appear to have been taken in a locker room facility where Woo worked.

Investigators have released censored versions of some of the photos found, as they believe there may be more victims.

ALERT says Woo previously worked with youth in Saskatchewan and Alberta, at Pasqua First Nations Education, Edmonton Bent Arrow Society, Shadow Dragon Youth Group Home, Leduc Boys and Girls Club, and Pa Metawe Games.

Woo has been charged with child luring, making child pornography, possession of child pornography, and distributing child pornography. He has since been released and is expected to appear in court on Feb. 28.

Anyone who may have any information regarding this investigation is asked to contact their local police or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-222-8477.
