Vehicle hits power pole while trying to flee police: EPS

Edmonton police say roads have been reopened near 107 Avenue and 109 Street after a vehicle crashed into a power pole Friday morning.

EPS says around 4:30 a.m., officers noticed a vehicle travelling at high speeds.

They then attempted to conduct a traffic stop, however, the vehicle reportedly sped off, which was when it collided with the power pole.

EPS says the driver, who is in his 20s, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

He is also facing charges which include dangerous driving.
