Wetaskiwin resident killed in collision Tuesday: RCMP

RCMP says one person is dead and another is in hospital following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 814 and Township Road 490 on Tuesday.

Just before 6 p.m. on Dec. 12, Leduc RCMP was dispatched to the intersection after receiving a report of the collision.

When emergency crews arrived, they tended to one of the drivers involved, a 64-year-old resident of Wetaskiwin, who ended up dying at the scene.

The 42-year-old driver of the other vehicle, also a resident of Wetaskiwin, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

RCMP are still investigating the cause of the collision.
